Ten or more hours in a seat is far easier when the things you need are within arm’s reach and the things you do not need are in the hold. Use this list as a starting point and adjust it to your own routine.
Keep these on you
- Passport, any visas and a saved copy of your itinerary
- A bank card plus a small amount of local cash for arrival
- Your devices, charging cables and a power bank that meets the carrier’s battery limits
For sleeping and resting
- A soft layer or wrap – cabin temperatures vary
- Eye mask and a travel pillow you have actually tested
- Earplugs or headphones that block engine noise
- Thick, comfortable socks
For feeling human on arrival
- Any regular medication, kept in its original box
- An empty bottle to refill after security
- Toothbrush, lip balm and hand cream in a clear, resealable bag
Small things people forget
- A spare top in case a checked bag runs late
- A pen for landing cards
- A snack you genuinely like
Every carrier sets its own size and weight limits for cabin bags, so check them before you pack. If you are not sure what your fare allows, ask us and we will look it up.
